EasterHunt Devotional 1.3

EasterHunt presents itself as an interactive family devotional application tailored for iOS devices, specifically the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Its primary function is to facilitate parents in guiding their children toward the teachings of the Gospel through engaging games and devotionals. The app can be utilized for a daily family devotional activity or adapted for extended play sessions.

The app features two distinct sets of games. In the first, children search for eggs within a park-themed setting by tapping on different areas of the screen. During this search, soothing background music enhances the experience, and playful animal characters emerge with delightful sounds when interacted with. Upon locating an egg, players transition to the “Open the Egg” game, where various puzzles await - from tapping and shaking to painting the egg. These games are designed with younger audiences in mind; they are accessible enough for four-year-olds yet sufficiently engaging to retain the interest of older children.

Upon opening an egg, users are presented with a visual along with a corresponding devotional that explores key elements of the Easter narrative: Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. This interactive approach offers a meaningful opportunity for parents to engage with their children in a memorable manner through shared readings of the devotionals. With twelve individually crafted devotionals, EasterHunt allows families to either embark on a twelve-day countdown to Easter or enjoy multiple devotionals in one sitting.

A noteworthy feature awaits those who complete all levels of EasterHunt—the chance to explore a 3D model of the empty tomb on Resurrection Day. Players can interact with angels who proclaim, “He is not here, for He is risen!” This immersive experience adds depth to the traditional Easter narrative.

The app provides options for customizing gameplay, including toggling music and sound effects. Additionally, users can revisit previous levels via a level select menu as they aim to “collect” eggs within an Easter Basket interface.

EasterHunt is expertly designed for children aged 2 to 10 years. Its vibrant artwork, straightforward gameplay mechanics, and succinctly written devotionals deliver an enjoyable experience that children may anticipate beyond just the Easter season.
